Bayern Munich change stance on Alphonso Davies amid Real Madrid interest - report

Bayern Munich believe Alphonso Davies is more likely to leave the club this summer than sign a new contract at the Allianz Arena, according to a report.

Davies' deal in Bavaria runs until 2025 and talks have not progressed over a fresh one, raising the possibility of a summer exit.

Real Madrid have courted Davies all season long and are said to view him as one of their priority transfer targets alongside PSG's Kylian Mbappe.

Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund recently met with Davies' agent in Munich, and the feeling from the German champions is the left-back is increasingly likely to be sold in the summer window.

Left-back has proven a problem position for Madrid so far this season, with Ferland Mendy rotating in and out of the team through injury and summer signing Fran Garcia failing to make the most of his limited appearances thus far. Midfielder Eduardo Camavinga has had to fill in at left-back at various points across the year too.

Madrid have also been tipped to re-sign Miguel Gutierrez, who has been one of the stars of Girona's incredible season.

Davies, who is currently sidelined with a ligament problem, has faced criticism from German media this season amid Bayern's struggles, while other reports claim he is one of several star players who could be sold to kick-start a rebuild of the first-team squad.
